AB Graphic International has announced that Germany-based Rako Group has ordered a total of 10 machines. The deal was culminated at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels.

The large order consists of several Digicon Series 3 digital converting machines, Rako’s second Digicon 3000 converting machine with a web width of 765 mm, as well as a Vectra turret rewinder and another SRI converting machine.

Roger Gehrke, responsible for the digital printing division at Rako, says the company has been impressed with the Digicon Series 3 after extensive testing of its first Series 3 machines delivered earlier this year.  “The high degree of automation has led to a considerable reduction in make ready times, and our productivity in digital print finishing will now grow significantly with the additional investments,” says Gehrke. “AB Graphic is a reliable partner who offers a worldwide service suitable for our foreign subsidiaries. As we expand the digital printing in our business steadily, we are putting increased emphasis on the high quality requirements of our customers regarding finishing.”

Rako’s decision for the use of the fully automated Vectra turret rewinder in conjunction with digital finishing presses, indicates increased order volumes for digital printing. “Higher value orders highlights a growing trend amongst our customers to spend more on our automation modules to reduce on costly make ready times,” comments Tony Bell, sales director for AB Graphic International. “We are delighted with this order as it reflects the strong relationship we have developed with Rako over the years. This was also not the only order we received at Labelexpo for multiple machines.”
